Hi! I’m Katelyn Borninski. I graduated from Oakland University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics, a minor in sociology, and a background in secondary education. I began my teaching career at the high school level in the Troy and Bloomfield Hills school districts, then taught for seven years at the middle school level at Detroit Country Day. In my time at Detroit Country Day, I was a cross country head coach for the middle school co-ed team.
I also earned a Master of Science degree in psychology with a certification in sport psychology. I completed extensive research on the psychological aspect of sport injury recovery, including the therapeutic techniques that can be effectively used to aid athletes in returning to previous levels of performance, which was the topic of my master’s thesis.
I am a Certified Professional Coach that enjoys working with athletes and non-athletes alike. I spent two seasons learning from and working with players, managers, and administrators at the United Shore Professional Baseball League. My passion for baseball, as well as athletics in general, and my desire to help others move forward toward their best future led me to establish Always Move Forward, LLC.
I am also a Yoga Alliance 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher. Yoga is the perfect tool to encourage the mind-body connection and link breath with movement. In addition to the strength-building and mobility benefits of yoga, the practice also allows for self-reflection and the recognition of one’s inner strengths.
I am passionate about helping others reach their full potential by discovering and drawing upon their inner strengths. Goal-setting and mental techniques are integral components in assisting others in accomplishing their goals and objectives with speed and ease. With confidence and clarity, an image of the successful future clients strive for will develop, along with an action plan to create and transition into that meaningful reality.
